What a blast! Take a bow Alison Jones and Sue Foley  for organising a phenomenal CELTIC Festival Saturday 16th in the evening and Sunday 17th, Saint Patrick's Day.
Melbourne Celtic Festival is a celebration of Celtic Music in the heart of the city over St Paddy’s weekend, Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, 2024 at  The Mission to Seafarers. Festival goers stepped into the magical world of melodies, foot-stomping rhythms and the heart-warming spirit of the Celtic world. The Melbourne Celtic Festival came back for its second year and it’s more exhilarating than ever!

The line-up included Australia’s premiere Scottish Rock Band, living legends CLAYMORE. High energy, Award-Winning Celtic group AUSTRAL. Scots Singer of the Year Nominee CHLOE MATHARU. Wendy Stapleton’s AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S CHOIR, FIONA ROSS, CO-CHEOL, MARIA FORDE, APOLLINE to name a few.

What an epic weekend it was!

There were volunteers to keep the wheels running smoothly.  A contingent from NAB and lovely people who responded to our shout out on Facebook. Ali and Sue loved meeting you and hope that they have sparked an interest to assist again next year.  Particular medals go to the Foley sisters and cousin who manned the front door for the entire day!!! Thank you for going above and beyond, darting around with extra requests to help our audience have the best time.  There for the duration – Bec at the merch table! Amazing! Pam Hoppe also there until stumps assisting the audience and back of house. Mariella Berry who was the only volunteer we had sign up for the Ceilidh on Saturday night, then fronted up on Sunday with her lovely mum, Helen and friends.

St Patrick’s day falls on a Monday in 2025 – pop it in your diaries if you are game.

We clearly need a portable air conditioner sponsor for the Chapel and Dome – then again, being Melbourne, we are just as likely to need a portable heater sponsor! We are also aware the Dome needs some sound enhancement when full of people.  Other than these things, if you have any suggestions for next year, please let us know.
