IMMEDIATE PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR, RON PAYNE
The DISTRICT 9800’s Annual General Meeting was attended via Zoom.
Congratulations to Ron Payne and his team at District 9800. Ron structured the Rotary focus for the 2023 to 2024 around RI President R. Gordon R. Mc Inally's theme of Create Hope in the World. This proved to be an inspiring theme and one in which Ron endeavoured to promote strongly.
The Rotary Action Plan gave clubs congruity. Ron believed that the process gave clear guidance to clubs. At every opportunity, Ron promoted the purpose of one of support to clubs in the District team. Ron acknowledged that the ‘one size fits all’ framework does not necessarily allow clubs to take on programmes and projects that are meaningful to their membership. For that reason, the district strategic plan was created based on feedback from leaders within clubs. The plan promoted ideas and opportunity for clubs within District 9800 to adopt activities that were relevant, aligned to Rotary's action plan and could be adapted to suit the interests and endeavours of members when they within each club.
