April is the new Environment Month.  Pam Dittmer is a member of ESRAG (Environmental and Sustainability Rotary Action Group) which  operates in compliance with Rotary International to act as a catalyst to protect the planet.

Rotarians understand that the whole world is their backyard. They can see the effects of climate change in communities they care about, and they haven’t waited to take action. They’re tackling the problem the way they always do: coming up with projects, using their connections to change policy — and planning for the future. It may be settled science that we are experiencing human-induced climate change, but the climate debate is far from over.  In fact, the real debate has barely begun: how do we respond to climate change, as individuals, as communities, as nations and ultimately as a planetary civilization?  Our survival depends upon the answer, and the answer depends upon how the debate is framed.  Rotarians could well play a critical role in framing that.
