I wanted to reach out personally to you all to express our heartfelt thanks for your incredible support of this year's Five Minutes of Fame event. The food you generously donated was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented – our guests were thoroughly impressed, and the compliments kept flowing throughout the evening. Your team of volunteers were wonderful to work with, bringing such warmth, efficiency, and genuine community spirit to the event. It was truly a pleasure having you all there.
I'm delighted to let you know that all the leftover food went to excellent use. We distributed it to The Engagement Hub at Uniting Day Facility, and the clients and staff there were incredibly grateful. They've passed on their thanks and compliments as well. It's moments like these that really highlight the community spirit we're all working to build together, and your contribution made that possible.

I wanted to acknowledge that our numbers were down a bit this year compared to previous events. This was in part due to the VOSS choir being unable to attend, and we also deliberately capped numbers following feedback from last year regarding accessibility challenges for some of our clients. While the smaller group allowed for a more intimate atmosphere, we're keen to grow participation again next year (hopefully in a larger venue).
With that in mind, I'd welcome any feedback you might have from your team's experience on the night. What worked well? What could we improve? Your insights would be invaluable as we plan for next year and work to enhance the experience for everyone involved.
I'll be rolling my sleeves up and applying for the Town Hall subsidy as soon as we're back in the New Year, so we can continue building on this wonderful community event.
Please note I've attached a couple of photos from the event that capture some of the special moments from the evening.
Thank you again for your generosity, your partnership, and for embodying the true spirit of community service. We're deeply grateful to have Rotary Port Phillip as our partners.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and happy end to 2025, and a bright and wonderful 2026.
With warm appreciation and best wishes,
Shay
