On August 29th, our school had the pleasure of welcoming Wendy Stirling, Port Phillip Rotary Youth Chair along with Des O’Shanassy, District 9800 Rotary Youth Director.  They attended the Interact Club’s executive meeting to review and discuss both ongoing and future projects.

Wendy and Des expressed their delight with how well the club is operating, particularly impressed by the meaningful projects completed by our students. Among the notable initiatives are “For A Meal,” “Backpacks for Vic Kids,” our visit to Alba Aged Care, “Friendship Bracelets for Ronald McDonald House,” and the butterfly bookmarks gifted to Year 9 students. The compassionate focus of these efforts, extending beyond fundraising, left a lasting impression on both Wendy and Des.

With such positive feedback, we are hopeful that Rotary will continue to sponsor even more Mac.Rob students in upcoming leadership opportunities.

MULTI DISTRICT INTERACT CONFERENCE

On Monday, September 2nd, students from Mac.Rob attended the Multi-District Interact Conference at Canterbury Grammar School. Seventeen students, including two of our Interact leaders, proudly represented Mac.Rob, showcasing our key projects for 2024 and outlining exciting new initiatives planned for 2025.

The event brought together representatives from ten schools, Rotaract clubs, and several Rotarians. Attendees were treated to a series of insightful presentations on leadership, followed by interactive breakout room discussions that allowed participants to share valuable perspectives on leadership development.

Mac.Rob’s projects were met with enthusiasm and positive feedback from the Rotarians present, affirming our school’s commitment to community service and leadership. The conference also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and building connections with like-minded students and professionals.
In addition to the engaging content, everyone enjoyed a delicious morning tea and lunch, which further added to the experience.
