The Port Phillip Board agreed to grant RIMERN with $3,500 for the whitegoods shortage. Please see the letter from President Bronwyn to RIMERN's Susie Cole and her response.
Dear RIMERN Board,
Whilst Rotary Port Phillip is part of the Aboriginal Homemakers Project project we have also heard that donations of whitegoods is slow at RIMERN at the moment.
After an informative club discussion, we agreed all clients in need should have a fridge and washing machine in their order. We also acknowledge that many clients who benefit from the RIMERN project are from the Port Phillip area.
Therefore, it is with great delight that Port Phillip Rotary Club would like to make a one off donation of $3,500 to RIMERN as a contribution to enable other clients who are unable to benefit from the Aboriginal Homemakers Project, to receive a fridge and washing machine.
We hope this contribution will help bridge the gap for those who might otherwise miss out on these basic necessities as they work towards establishing a home and rebuilding their lives.
On behalf of Rotary Port Phillip, I would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many dedicated RIMERN volunteers who work tirelessly to transform empty spaces into welcoming homes. The practical support, dignity and hope you provide enable so many people to begin a new chapter in their lives, and we are proud to support your wonderful work.
The funds should now be available in your bank account.
Thank you for all that you do, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with RIMERN to make a meaningful difference in our community.
Kind regards,
Dr. Bronwyn Maddock Ph.D, B Ed.
Wow!!
Dear President Bronwyn & Rotary Port Phillip,
Thank you all so much for both the generous & thoughtful donation AND the recognition of our amazing team of volunteers who do so much to improve the lives of Melburnians with so little.
Your $3,500 will indeed ‘Create Lasting Impact’ & provide white goods essentials to 5 or more households. We really appreciate the support.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
Kind regards
Susie Cole
