Hello Sue and members of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip
I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

Let me start with my education at university and the new IELTS learning program. I am so excited to share with you that I had only two more terms to graduate from my bachelor degree. Now, my team and I start to think about the topic for a senior project in the upcoming term. We had been discussing it a lot but not yet finalized which one will be our topic for our senior project. By the way, my final results from last term were released and I got A + in Formation & Entrepreneurship class, and A- in Management & Organizational Behaviour Theory class. I was so surprised with my result that I got A- in Operation Management class as it is the most difficult subject in the last term that I don’t really expect I can get a good result like this. But I’m not feel upset with other class results even though I got two A- but I am still happy that it does not really affect my GPA. However, this term I am taking four courses such as Financial Management I, Introduction to Statistics, Labor & Industrial Relations, and Fundamentals of Global Business Management. There are three classes in person and one online class, so I had a full class schedule every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening. It is a bit busy for me but I will manage my time and study hard to get a better score as much as possible. Back to my new class at CRST campus is the IELTS learning program that I just learned one month ago. This class was very difficult for me compared to TDSO class because I learned how to do the IELTS test including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It brings me a lot of advanced vocabulary that is very hard to understand as I never heard and learned those kinds of words before. One more thing, when I did the reading question, I got only 3 or 4 correct among 12 questions, it’s had shown me that my English is still limited and that I had many things that needed to be improved. However, I will try my best in this class to do more research about the vocabulary that I don’t understand and more practice with some words that use the wrong pronunciation.

In addition, I had a wonderful time joining social activities with our CRST students. During these activities, the Social activities team divided us into groups and gave us a mission to take a short video tread on Tik Tok about a temple in Siem Reap. My team and I decided to take a short video from one temple to another temple following the requirements and map that we got from the social activities team. Suddenly, we had to change our concept because it was very hard for our team to take the video. Then we start to discuss with team to fine the new concept and as a result a lot of our students they like our video but we still lose because other team they did very great job and video quality that us. Through this mission, it teaches us to learn how to work as a group, especially it teaches us to help our team work when they face a problem. As well as our team, when we know that other team members can’t take the video because they feel uncomfortable, we not just ignore their suggestion but we need to discuss and find the best solution for all team members. On that day, we not only take the short video but we have a chance to enjoy the beautiful temple and green nature around the temple as well. It also helps me to release my stress from study and work for a few hours. I am thankful to the social activities team that they try their best to find new activities for all CRST students to enjoy and create a good memory together. And I hope we can help more wonderful activities like this in the future.

Last but not least, on 5 July, I joined the Community Service activity, which started at 6:00 AM. Our students and alumni worked together to build a house for a rural family. We arrived early to prepare the materials and started building the house. Everyone had a job and worked together all day. In the morning, I helped install the doors and windows. In the afternoon, I helped build the stairs. The work was not easy because we worked for many hours, but everyone stayed happy and supported each other. It was a good feeling to see the house finished at 2:30PM. The family was very happy to have a safe place to live. This activity taught me that when people work together, we can do something great in a short time. I also learned more about teamwork, responsibility, and helping others. I enjoyed working with our students and alumni because we had fun, worked hard, and encouraged each other. I am thankful that I am a part of this activity and help build a home for a family in need. It was a meaningful experience for me, and it reminded me that even one day of serving the community can make a big difference in someone’s life. I love to join more Community Service activities in the future because when we help people and also help me learn new skills and become a better person.
Finally, I would like to say thank you so much for your valuable time reading and reply back to me every month. I really appreciate your heart supporting me and I wish you staying healthy and happy every day.
Best Regards
