An update from our sponsor student:

Hello Sue and member of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip,

I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!
I think this email may surprise you because I always send email to you at the end of the month. But this month I sent an email to you in half a month because I have become a year III student now. Every years 3&4 students need to change our schedule from the end of month to a half of month. So, I am really excited to share all my activities this month with you.
Let's start with my study at the University class and TDSO class. This is the first term for the year's subject and it is really hard for me as well, especially the cost accounting subject. Because this subject relates to Accounting I, II, and III, it is very critical and hard to understand. After I finished the Accounting III subject, I also took other courses, maybe two terms that made me forget about Accounting I, II, and III. To be honest, for me It is really really hard to understand the lesson even in class. I try to listen to the teacher but I still do not catch up with the lesson. By the way, the introduction to Marketing subject was very interesting because my professor always picked up and gave us real examples in our real-life. It's a very good way to make us understand and think about doing  marketing in our country. He also teaches us to know how to run the business and share some strategies to do effective marketing as well. I really enjoyed this subject so much. However, the TDSO class was also an amazing class. Our teacher brings new concepts to teach us. It is called “Mini Toastmasters Club” which is really helpful for us. You know Toastmasters are important for three reasons such as improving our public speaking skills, building our leadership skills and our communication skills. In this project, I learn a lot about how to control my voice, time while I speak and also be professional. The Toastmasters Club has many roles that teachers divide among all the students in our class such as Timer, Ah-Counter, Language evaluator, Speaker, and Speaker evaluator. All of these roles are very helpful to me and my classmates because we can improve our speaking and learn something from our classmates as well. I really like this project so much and I hope I can learn and improve my English.
In addition, I have the opportunity to join the Project W workshop again at Kouk Kandal Secondary School. This school was far away from Siem Reap City so all educators including me needed to get up early in the morning to prepare ourselves. On that day, we meet up with each other at 6 o'clock in the morning at our campus, then leave to have breakfast. We spend maybe 1 hour and a half to arrive at Kouk Kandal secondary school. When we arrived at school, we got a warm welcome from the teacher and all the students there. After that my partner and I started to prepare the flipchart. I am the one who shared in the first session about the benefits of water and how to make safe water for drinking. My partner shared about hygiene and nutrition, she taught the kids how to clear their body and their teeth as well. All the students are very smart and intelligent, and they were very involved with us. They ask the question when they don't understand or are not clear with the lesson. For me, I really appreciate all the PW educators and PW team that they have beautiful hearts and work hard to educate all the students in the rural areas. I hope I can have opportunities to join the PW workshop next time.
Last but not least, this month I also learned that some of our students visited some families in Siem Reap and Bakong district. We bring food supplies for four families in Siem Reap district and three families in Bakong district. During the activities day, we needed to get up early in the morning and go to the Samaki market nearby our campus to pick up supplies that we ordered from the seller. After checking all the ingredients and buying some fruit and dry food, we leave the market to visit all the families that we plan to visit. We went to visit and provided them with the food supplies that they really needed every month. They always wait and give us a warm welcome every time we go to visit them. They were so happy when we came to visit them because some families were living alone , that’s why they were really happy to see us. I am always emotional when I go to visit them because I feel sorry for them that they are very old but have no one to stay and take care of them. Before I was upset with my family condition because I was born in a poor family but when I joined CRST I can see that I am better than a lot of people and that they are harder than me. Even my family is in poverty but at least I have my parents and siblings to stay with me and support me all the time. Back to them, they don’t even a family like other, I can imagine their feelings how much that they lonely. Anyway, I also ask them about their health and check with them about supplies and things that they need in the next month. Finally I just want to say thank you to all the sponsors and our CRST students that they always helped our community even if it is not very much but I can make other people happy. I really appreciate it.
Lastly, I would love to say to you so much for your valuable time reading my email every month. I also attached some pictures of my activities in March as well. I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Best regards
