SREYPICH - OUR SPONSOR STUDENT ROTORACT CLUB OF SIEM REAP

Hello Sue and member of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip
I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!
I am very excited to write the email to you again about activities that I have done in August and I hope you enjoy reading this email.
First thing, I would like to tell you about my study at University. I always put my study first in my email because I think it is a very important thing to let you know about my study even though I'm not an outstanding student. After I finished the final exams I received only health education results that I get A+ and other classes I haven’t received the results yet. I was worried about computer subjects because during finals exams I did not do well in this class. I got only 37/50 scores, so I think I cannot get an A in this subject. Anyway, I started the new term already. I am taking three subjects such as Accounting III, College Algebra, and Taxation. This term makes me worry about the results again because all the three subjects are very difficult for me, especially College Algebra and Accounting III. Taxation is also difficult for me but it is not much because I have joined a sharing class with Bong Samach (our senior student) and she shares the lesson that relates to our lesson at University. However, I will study hard and join a study club with my friends. I promise you to do my best and get as good a result as I can.

Besides my study, I also joined Bike Donations and Planting tree activities with Project T and Project B at Run Ta Ek high school. I remember that I also shared with you in the last month about interviewing students with Project B to find students that will provide bikes to them. In this month, we can find the students who really need the transportation and they stay in difficult situations. I was very excited that I could see their smiles when they received a bike from us. I hope they can continue their education through using the bike for transportation. One more thing, I also planted some trees in Ruk Ta Ek high school with school directors and many students that come to help us as well. During that day, the weather was so hot but it can’t stop us from completing our mission. We try our best to save our environment through planting more trees in the community. Not only this, we also encourage and provide the fruits tree to the villagers to save the environment as well. For me, I really appreciate all CRST students especially the Project T and Project B team that they are working hard to prepare and organize very well on those days.

In addition, I also joined with Project G workshop at Svay Sor secondary schools. We met each other at 6:20AM at our Campus and then we had breakfast together before we went to school. During that time, we spend 1 hour and a half to go to school because it is far away from Siem Reap city (67km from Siem Reap city). As well as the wonderful view on the way and music it makes my feelings so fresh and relaxing. When we arrived at the Svay Sor secondary school, my partner and I started to do the pre-test before class to know how much they knew about women's health. After that, I started to share and explain to them about the meaning of the Project G logo and then came to the lesson that related to the health and reproductive system that make the most of students who were shy about the lesson. But also, I try to explain and encourage them to understand about our purpose that empowers the women to value themselves and also take care of their health through using Kit and sharing the lessons to them. And then they start to get involved with me and ask a lot of questions that relate to reproductive systems. I think they want to know about reproductive systems but they are just shy because maybe people around them give in to a negative mindset and lack of confidence in talking about the reproductive system. After my partner and I finished the lesson, we started to do the post-test to make sure they caught and understood all the lessons that we shared with them. By the way, I was really happy to see them in person and also shared the important knowledge to all the women students in the rural school. I hope they can catch all the lessons that my partner and I share with them.

Finally, I would like to tell you one more activity that I have done in August is painting VSL (village stress library). I love painting and drawing when I have free time, so that is why I want to be involved with this activity. We paint the picture that relates to the reading book to inspire and motivate all the children.
Last month, we also had a huge success installing the first VSL and now we are excited to continue our second VSL at Trapeang Run village. We have a different type of book that all the students or villagers can borrow to read. We were also honored to have a lot of support from the village chief and community members to look after our VSL. We are happy to continue our vision to promote and inspire all the students to value education. I am really excited to be a part of this activity because I can help back the community and also promote education to all the next generation.

Thank you so much for spending your valuable time reading my email every month. I also attached some of my photos to you as well, please enjoy your reading.

Best regards
