Hello Sue, Bronwyn and members of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip

I hope you’re doing well and staying healthy!

I am so excited to share my studies and activities with you in August. This month was wonderful for me because I had the chance to join many activities with special guests from Australia.

The first thing I want to share with you is my studies at the university. This term I faced some challenges in the Introduction to Statistics and Fundamental Global Business Management classes because our professors are foreigners, which makes it a bit hard to understand as my English is limited. So, it makes me feel bored sometimes when I don't catch up with what the professors say. By the way, I can deal with this problem by reviewing the lessons before class and asking questions about some point I am not clear about. At first, I was afraid to ask them questions but it turned out that my professors are happy when students have questions and they are willing to help me whenever I don’t understand. Moreover, I just finished the midterm exam in Financial Management I, and it went smoothly because all the exercises were similar to the exercises that I had reviewed and practiced with friends in class. Not only that, I have three more subjects that I need to have midterm exams in next week. I am now keeping my nose on them to make sure that I can do well on exam day. Even though I face some challenges with my studies, I will study hard, review the questions before class, and do my best to get a good result as much as I can.

In addition, I have an incredible opportunity to join the Business School with our special speakers from Australia such as Aviv, Jan, and MJ. I joined the business school with them from the 4th to the 8th of August. We spent time together for four days, and it was a very meaningful time for us to gain new knowledge and experience from them. Jan, Aviv, and MJ inspired me a lot through their lessons and life experiences. As of now, their core values are still in my mind. That is the reason to push me to find my own core values for my life. Aviv taught us to find our core values through CRST culture because it is a real example of our values. Jan taught us to understand the difference between company brands and personal brands, and JM taught us about the financial plan and magic book, which was very inspiring to me and other students to keep writing what we want to achieve in the future. She also shared with us about her magic book since 2006 until now she has almost achieved everything that she writes down in her magic book. This is my favorite topic because it allows us to set our goals and have a dream to keep motivating ourselves that we need to work hard to achieve goals in one day. I am really grateful to the three of them that spend their valuable time coming to Cambodia to run the Business School for our CRST students. I hope we can meet them again next time.

Last but not least, I also had the chance to join the MBM activities in the rural areas. That day, we all got up early in the morning to repair bicycles for children in our community, and we also had our special guest join us as well. Before we started our activities we had a delicious breakfast together and then separated as a group to fix bikes. My team and I are all girls who had full energy to contribute back to our society. Many children bring their bikes to us and they smile after their bikes become a new version. Some students say thank you to us for fixing their bikes because from now on they can come to class on time, not late like before. After that, our lunch is ready for all the students to enjoy together with delicious food and dessert as well. As a result, we can repair 117 bikes for the children in only one day. It’s such a big achievement for our activities because it means 117 students have transportation to go to school every day even in the dry or rainy season. I am so proud of everyone who was a part of these incredible activities to help our community play an important role by fixing bikes for education. I hope all the children can go to school with new knowledge and be inspired by our CRST students to continue their education.

.

Finally, I would love to say thank you so much for spending your valuable time reading my email every month. More than that, thank you so much for your support and motivation to continue my dream. I have also attached some photos of my activities, I hope you enjoy reading my email and the photos that I have attached.

Best regards

Sreypich
