Hello Sue and members of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip
I hope you are well and staying healthy.
I am so excited to share with you many wonderful activities that I have done in June. It was very joyful and meaningful for me as I could grow and develop myself through all those activities.
Let's start with my two classes at University and the TDSO class as I have many assignment activities to do with my team. Now we are prepared for the final exam especially on the last evening when my friend and I reviewed the lessons for the Operations Management final exam. It has a lot of lessons that I need to review because this subject requires me to remember the lessons and be well-prepared before classes. As a result, all the questions require me to write down and give a very long explanation, and an example. Luckily, I can complete it on time but I’m not sure whether I can get a high score or not. However, in the other two subjects, I will do the presentation this week instead of taking the examination. But even if I take an exam or presentation I still spend time doing research, slide presentation, and preparing before I do the presentation as well. By the way, my TDSO class was very interesting as we had a new project that played roles in the courtroom debate last Friday and it was very new for me to take the role of a counselor for the defense lawyer.
Before the defense day came, all my team members were very active and involved with each other to create questions and prepare the answers that we would respond to on the other side. It was a bit hard for us as it was our first time doing it, especially when we did a rehearsal and made a lot of mistakes during that time. Anyway, we all did a great job even though we lost on the stage but we still learned the process of a courtroom debate. I feel incredibly proud of everyone including me that we can complete it successfully with confidently presented arguments, challenge ideas, and work together. Even though it was the last project with the TDSO class, it brought us wonderful memories with our teachers.

In addition, I would like to share a reflection on our recent mission to Stung Treng Province. This was a great opportunity for me because it allowed me to travel outside of Siem Reap and take part in activities that support local communities. The trip was especially meaningful because Jess joined us, making the experience even more memorable. During the mission, we brought SolarBuddy study lights, Project G – Empowering Girls menstrual hygiene kits, and delivered educational workshops on health and hygiene for both male and female students. It was encouraging to see students actively participate in the sessions and show interest in learning new things that can help them in their daily lives. We spent around seven hours traveling from Siem Reap to Stung Treng. Although it was a long trip, it gave us time to bond as a team and prepare for the activities ahead. Along the way, I had the chance to see new places and learn more about the communities we would be visiting. The following day was when our main mission began. Our team traveled to different locations to carry out the planned activities. Chanlery and I were selected to be educators for Project G, and we were assigned to deliver lessons to students at Sesan Sovathaepheap High School. I was excited but also a little nervous because it was my first time teaching students in that area. However, the students were welcoming, eager to learn, and actively engaged in the discussions. Their participation made the experience enjoyable and rewarding. This trip taught me many valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, and the importance of education. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this mission, and I will always remember the experiences, connections, and learning that came from our time in Stung Treng Province.

Last but not least, last Sunday was a meaningful day as I had the opportunity to join MBM activities at Vessvan Primary School with all our CRST students. It was my first time joining MBM and I fixed a bike. My new experience began when I sat down and repaired it while many kids looked at me. I felt a bit nervous because I had never done it before, luckily my team work taught me how to repair the bike and finally I did it. To be honest, I’m so proud of myself that I can fix one bike without asking for help from others, especially when the kids were smiling when they saw a new version of their bike that was repaired by Sreypich (me). Looking back, I not only got a lot of new experience from this activity but I also became a part of giving kids an opportunity to chase their dreams through the small things that I have done every day. They can continue their dreams, enjoy learning, and don’t have to get up early and walk for 2-3 km because of no transportation. I hope this activity can inspire and motivate them to continue their education because only education can break the cycle of poverty. I want them to know that they have many people waiting to help and encourage them when they are really committed to chasing it.
