Hello Sue and member of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip. I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

This month, I am thrilled to share with you about my wonderful activities this month. In the past June and early July, I have done many activities, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Let's start with my education at PUC University and my extra class in CRST. I was a bit busy this term because I need to do the presentation for all of this course. For me, it is a bit boring and sometimes I feel overloaded but I can learn a lot from all the presentations. I learned how to work as a team and some members are very helpful but also some team members wait until the last minute. I really like to work with them even though sometimes they are a bit late but we understand that they and I also have something to complete at the workplace. Anyway, we can complete our presentation very well and the professor tells us that we did very well on that day. Besides that, I really enjoy the class because the professor always divides us into group discussion and gives us a topic to research and share what we learn from the topic with our classmate. All those activities taught me to work as a group and understand my teammate's situation before starting the conflict in the team. More than this, it also teaches me to learn how to give good feedback to my teammate and also open my mind to receive the feedback to improve myself in the next presentation as well. It not only impacts my study but also impacts my workplace as well. I will bring what I've learned from my class to apply in real life and I hope it works like my group presentation.
Back to TDSO class, it was amazing because the teacher always brought the concept to teach us at every session. When I just moved from Teacher Korb class, I can say that it was hard to adapt into the new class but now I am really happy and enjoy this class so much. Teachers always bring new games for us and all the games are always related to our lesson, so we can have fun and learn at the same time. Besides the happy activities, I also have sad news to tell you as well. Last term my result was very low. I got C+ in the introduction to marketing class and got only B+ in Customer service class. I got only A+ in Cost Accounting class. I am really disappointed with myself that I can’t get a good result for you. However, I will try my best to study hard to get a good result this term.

In addition, I have the opportunity to join planting the tree two times with Project-T tree for life. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to join in this activity with over 100 people from Jaya House Hotels, Planning For Life, Khiri Reach Foundation, Adventures Cambodia, FCC Angkor by Avani and many others. It is such a big event to plant the tree along the road in Seim Reap city. During that day, the weather was very good, it was not raining and not too hot for us. That made us enjoy planting with a big smile. Together, we planted more than 100 trees and it is the way that we try to create a green environment. On that day, I really appreciate all the participants that spend their valuable time to join hands with us to build a green city in Siem Reap. They seem very happy to plant the tree with their beautiful hearts. We hope five or ten years later, we can see the tree that we plant today grow up and give us oxygen. As you know, we can’t live without oxygen that is released from all the trees or forests around the world. This event is not only planting the tree but planting the resilience of healthier Cambodia and inspiring the next generation to value and protect our environment. I would like to say thanks to all the Project-T team that they worked tirelessly to cooperate with the government and all the sponsors to conduct this event. And give me an opportunity to plant trees and help back to our community through these activities. I hope I can have a chance to join these activities again and again.

Last but not least, I want to share with you about visiting family in Seim Reap city. We plan to visit four families such as Grandma Chen, Grandma Khoeurn, Mrs.Nang Ny, and Mrs.Yet. We supported them a long time ago because their family situation was very difficult. Grandma Chen, Grandma Khoeurn, and Mrs. Yet they stay alone because they have no child or husband. However, Mrs.Nang Ny is a widow who has two children and one granddaughter. We support them with the food supply and extra classes (For Mrs.Nang Ny daughter) every month because our purpose is to support the poor family and support their children’s education.

On that day, Pich, Chhengheang, Vanna, and I leave our campus at 7 o’clock and continue to the market to pick up the ingredients that we have ordered one day before our activity. After we leave the market, we went to visit Mrs.Nang Ny first and then we move to visit Mrs. Yet, Grandma Chen and the last one we went to visited Grandma Khoeurn. A few months ago, we always brought food supplies and visited on 7th but this month we went to visit them on 10th and it was a bit late. When we arrived at Grandma Khoeurn, all of us became emotional because she sat in front of the small house waiting for us. She cried when she saw us bring food supplies for her. She told us that she is afraid that we will stop to visit and support her.

During that day, I felt heavy and sad when I found out that she did not yet have breakfast or some snack because she doesn’t have anything to eat. By the way, when I became a FS team member, I finally understood that even though our support seems like a little help, it is very big for them.

One more thing, we are not only supporting the food supply but also making them feel they are not alone. I was honoured to be promoted to Family Support team member because I can be a part to help the people that really need our help.

Finally, I would like to say thank you so much for your valuable time reading my email every month. I also attached some photos of my activities as well and I hope you like it.
Best regards
Sreypich
