“Working in harmony with each other, and with external groups and individuals, will improve our impact and help Rotary survive and prosper into the future.”
Sue, a Bendigo Bank Senior Manager, has been a Rotarian since 2007 and has held roles within the Melbourne South Rotary Club (now Port Phillip Rotary) as President and Treasurer several times and has also served on the Board of District 9800 as Chair of Community Service and Fundraising Chair. Sue has stepped into the breach of Port Phillip Rotary’s presidential chair for 2023 - 2024.
Sue knows that partnerships are incredibly important and are really the only way forward for Rotary. “Partners bring people-power and funding, and with the exposure to what we are doing, there is a much better chance they will become further involved,” she stated. Sue justly has been presented with the Royce Abbey Award and Paul Harris awards for her incredible commitment and impact in Rotary.
Sue has a passion for the Arts and all things Celtic. Sue is a founding member of the Irish band, Bhan Tre. Being the innovator that she is, Sue has combined her passion for the Celtic culture, music and Rotary by raising funds for Australian Rotary Health through the amazing Melbourne Celtic Festival held on St. Patrick’s Day annually.
CHANGEOVER
We had a wonderful night at the Emerald Hotel for the changeover. It was a fitting affair to thank outgoing President Warwick Lloyd for captaining an amazing year and achieving so much. A heartfelt THANK YOU WARWICK for all your efforts.
We welcomed in Bec Heitbaum who was looking forward to leading the club for the Rotary year but Bec soon realised that the commitments to her family, her workplace and Rotary was too much, so something had to give. Bec made a wise choice as, like all of us, she needs to take care of herself so that all her responsibilities can function effectively, so Bec has stepped aside from Rotary. I am sure that as her life work balance steadies, we will see her again in the future. We all wish Bec the very best and will miss her quiet manner.
During the event we raised money for Minus18 (LGBT group who support young people) who spoke on the night and provided merchandise for the tables. A huge shoutout to all those who supplied items for the event. Congratulations to all those who were lucky enough to receive a prize.
Milla was very proactive in sourcing outstanding items and in particular the FITNESS FOR ALL LEVELS and SOUTH YARRA CHIROPRACTOR.
