The Rotary club of Calcutta Inner City intends to spread digital literacy amongst the underprivileged particularly students in remote areas. We have identified one of our RCCs where a primary education centre is operating. We would like to start a computer education centre in that area. They will run the centre with a para teacher and the local beneficiaries will be around 200 students.
Secondly we would like to start a computer centre at the school Salkia Sri Krishna Vidyalaya for the underprivileged. There are 220 students in that school who would immensely benefit from the Computers.

Depending on the exchange rate the cost to the club is between $4 and $4.5k.
It is a new initiative for the club which might grow our partnership with another Club. It would be wonderful to support a member who is passionate about this cause and who has put her hand up at every opportunity to volunteer or be part of club activities, so thank you Yvonne for bringing the project to the club. Supporting education for underprivileged children is one of RI's initiatives.
If this project is successful I suggest future projects could involve matching grants.
