Melbourne Pollinator Corridor Update
At the Port Melbourne Primary MPC site, weeding has been a priority over the past 2 months. Because we don’t use chemicals and don’t have capacity to scalp sites (which actually is good in a way because it keeps waste to an absolute minimum) getting the weeds out of the seed bank in the soil is a large consideration in the 3 years after planting. If we come back regularly and stay on top of things in this time, the weeds diminish immensely! We have been back here 4 times in the last few months keeping on top of things and putting some more mulch on the paths which were getting bare.

Upcoming MPC Strategy and Design Document

HEARTSCAPES  are working hard on the first document about the design, strategy and approach of the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor! There is a lot to do for  Emma Cutting but it feels good for her to do it. Emma and the team are hoping it will be out in the next few months. Emma is sure there will be many more iterations of it as they continue to scale but this will be a start. We will keep you posted!
