MENTAL HEALTH UNIT UPDATE

It is a delight to share a message from The Alfred MHU. Since COVID we have not been able to access the Unit and have left deliveries at the door of the Unit with Cody who has agreed to stock the cupboards on our behalf. He has embraced our role with great gusto, and it is just beautiful the care that he takes as it wasn’t in his job description. He knows though that we volunteer, source the clothing and care bags, and provide them on behalf of community. He knows the patients and staff so value it, and he honours the relationship and provisions so much that he has added a great load to his job by taking this on, ensuring that we can continue to provide effectively for the patients.
Cody sent these three photos through for sharing. He said simply that knowing we won’t be able to see for ourselves the cupboards perhaps he would like us to see how they look and I hope you agree that they look grand.
T-shirts in S, M and L will arrive in the next couple of days and then the full complement of range of clothing will be available for the Box Hill Hospital and The Alfred. Great work team!
This is what occurs because of our Clubs, Barry’s storage, our volunteering and Rotary Foundation efforts combine so effectively. If anyone wants to make arrangements to have a small working bees at a time that is suitable for Barry, please let me know.
