Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life. When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.
HOW ROTARY MAKES HELP HAPPEN
Through water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs, Rotary’s people of action mobilize resources, form partnerships, and invest in infrastructure and training that yield long-term change.
The Rotary Foundationis changing the world by providing grants for projects and activities around the globe and in your own backyard:
WASH Global Grant Projects: Since 2013, The Rotary Foundation has invested in more than $130 million in over 2000 projects worldwide. Through this investment, our volunteers of action have improved access to safely managed and basic WASH services to communities, schools and healthcare facilities, while protecting and conserving water resources.
Rotary-USAID WASH Partnership: Rotary and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) assist communities and governments to plan, finance and deliver safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, while sustainably managing water resources.
WASH in Schools Target Challenge: Rotary challenges our members to develop sustainable projects that comprehensively address the most pressing water, sanitation, hygiene and education needs in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, India, and Kenya.
Port Phillip Rotary has been involved in the Washroom Toilets for families in Cambodia.

The Rotary club of Calcutta Inner City intends to spread digital literacy amongst the underprivileged particularly students in remote areas. We have identified one of our RCCs where a primary education centre is operating. We would like to start a computer education centre in that area. They will run the centre with a para teacher and the local beneficiaries will be around 200 students. Secondly we would like to start a computer centre at the school Salkia Sri Krishna Vidyalaya for the underprivileged. There are 220 students in that school who would immensely benefit from the Computers. .
Hello Sue and member of the Rotary Club of Port Phillip,
I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!
I think this email may surprise you because I always send email to you at the end of the month. But this month I sent an email to you in half a month because I have become a year III student now. Every years 3&4 students need to change our schedule from the end of month to a half of month. So, I am really excited to share all my activities this month with you.
Martin Rogers and Chris Hendricks recently visited Mac Robertson Girls’ High School to deliver bags for the Stationery Drive and also badges for the two co-presidents, the secretary and five directors of the Interact Club sponsored by Port Phillip Rotary. Martin and Chris were greeted by Fathima ZIYAD who is the staff representative of the Interact Club at Mac Rob. Rehana
(Fathima), invited both Martin and Chris to attend a full meeting of the Club. Martin was introduced as the Youth Committee member for Port Phillip Rotary, and Chris as Port Phillip Rotary’s president, addressed the group. They were both warmly welcomed by the group of 100 girls at the meeting and 100 girls who zoomed in.

Thanks Rotary Prahran for the working bee at RIMERN (Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network) today AND to Past President Kim Wen of @RotaryKew for holding the committee meeting of the Australian Asian Businesswomen’s Association at our warehouse! It’s always great to introduce our project to dynamic people who can help spread the word about what we need, what we do & how more people can get involved!
Since 2006 Impact has been making a difference to Victorian women and children fleeing extreme violence at home. Through our activities we provide badly needed essentials together with the knowledge that someone cares.
March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and reflect on the vital roles that women play in our communities. I want to use this occasion to recognize women in Rotary -- like you-- for their tremendous contributions to our organization. Rotary and Rotaract clubs thrive when they create a welcoming and inclusive environment and enable women to foster meaningful connections, serve our communities, and lead.
