June is designated Rotary Fellowships Month to recognize the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests, promote increased participation in fellowships, and increase understanding of this program.

What are the benefits for Rotarians in joining the Rotary Fellowships?
Fellowship provides opportunities for Rotarians to make lasting friendships outside their own Club, District or country. Fellowships contribute to the advancement of world understanding and peace. Also, Fellowships serve as an incentive for attracting new members to Rotary and retaining our existing members. Indeed, Rotary Fellowship, together with the Rotarian Action Groups, serve as an effective tool in promoting membership development and should be actively promoted in our Districts.

WELCOME OUR NEW 2026-2027 PORT PHILLIP ROTARY PRESIDENT BRONWYN MADDOCK
The Rotary Club of Port Phillip’s annual changeover dinner sparkled with festive energy. Outgoing President Wendy reflected on a fantastic year, while the club joyously pinned the presidential collar on incoming President Bronwyn, kicking off a new year of community service and a promise to "CREATE LASTING IMPACT".
What a delight it was to welcome District Governer, Peter Shepheard, Port Phillip Mayor, Alex Makin, former Port Phillip Mayor, Marcus Pearl accompanied by his beautiful daughter Clementine, Port Phillip Councillors, Rotarians from various clubs , family members and representatives from the Battle of the Bands. Thank you all for helping to celebrate the new incoming president of Port Phillip Rotary, Bronwyn Maddock. Oh, what a night!
A Paul Harris Award is given to someone who has contributed to the club and local community, as well as recognizing their effort and dedication towards the humanitarian and educational causes of
Rotary. A very worthy recipient is our amazing Milla. From the moment that Milla came into our club, she has had significant impact and I am sure will continue to do so!
Congratulations to Ron Adams who was recognised for 30 Years of service to Rotary. Ron is a role model, mentor, hard working, a champion for Foundation, wise and a has delightful sense of humour. Ron is also pretty nifty on the grill at the barbecues.The District Govenor, Peter Shepheard, was glowing in his description of Ron and the journey he has taken to date. Well done, Ron! We are all very proud of you.
A big thank you for your help in collecting electrical wire for the students in Timor -Leste studying electricity, this is a three year full time course.
We have collected over 1300 Linea meters. Gerard made a great contact. Here is a picture of the boxes getting ready to go in two weeks to TL as I am getting my last lot then. The value is over $3500. I am putting the electrical wire in cardboard boxes with the contents on the box, which says "wire" as someone will nick them. They will go via DIK in Altona.
The money they save on this wire will go on other important projects in supporting the 174 students at Maliana Electrical School.

I hope you are well and staying healthy.
I am so excited to share with you many wonderful activities that I have done in June. It was very joyful and meaningful for me as I could grow and develop myself through all those activities. Let's start with my two classes at University and the TDSO class as I have many assignment activities to do with my team. Now we are prepared for the final exam especially on the last evening when my friend and I reviewed the lessons for the Operations Management final exam. It has a lot of lessons that I need to review because this subject requires me to remember the lessons and be well-prepared before classes. As a result, all the questions require me to write down and give a very long explanation, and an example. Luckily, I can complete it on time but I’m not sure whether I can get a high score or not. However, in the other two subjects, I will do the presentation this week instead of taking the examination. But even if I take an exam or presentation I still spend time doing research, slide presentation, and preparing before I do the presentation as well. By the way, my TDSO class was very interesting as we had a new project that played roles in the courtroom debate last Friday and it was very new for me to take the role of a counselor for the defense lawyer.
The Interact Club at Mac Robertson Girls' High have been very busy this last month collecting stationery to send to Timor Leste. And what a grand job they did! I collected the stationery and took it over to DIK (Donations In Kind). The car was filled to the roof; not another pencil could have squeezed in. Many thanks to Rehana, our two co-presidents, Thy and Isabel, and the wonderful ground staff at Mac Rob who helped with the transporting the items from the school to the car. The girls are very well aware that EDUCATION IS KEY!
As Mac Robertson Girls’ High School’s oldest philanthropic club, Interact aims to foster connections both within and beyond the school community, extending to international relations. Saturday the 20th of June saw the Interact girls from MacRobertson Girls’ High School very busy at the Port Melbourne Bunnings BBQ. An early start didn't seem to faze them at all, and the teamwork was absolutely wonderful throughout the day.
The Interact Club co-presidents, Thy and Isabel, organised the Bunnings BBQ in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Port Phillip. The fundraiser supported “For A Meal”, one of the club’s key projects that involves packing relief food sachets for people affected by natural disasters.
RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment) is a weekend-long residential camp designed to empower teenagers (typically ages 14–17) by building their communication skills, self-confidence, and resilience. The program uses guest speakers, interactive workshops, and team-building challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

After a workplace injury and a difficult return to work, Darnelle lost her confidence and stepped away from employment.
Determined to start again, she retrained as a driver but after an unsuccessful interview, she felt her lack of professional clothing had held her back.
Through Ready Set, Darnelle received the clothing and support she needed to feel like herself again. Confident, capable and ready for her next opportunity.
Abbas’ story is different but just as important. After his contract ended, he found himself unemployed and preparing for interviews without the right clothing to make a strong first impression.
With support from Ready Set, Abbas received interview appropriate clothing and guidance. He told us the experience removed the stress of what to wear, giving him renewed confidence to apply for more roles and a greater chance of employment.
